Black Prong Hosts First Conesville

Black Prong Equestrian Village hosted its first Conesville back in January of this year. Competitors were able to participate in an exciting day of Margaritaville-themed cones courses.

Drivers showed up decked out in their best Margaritaville attire, and some even dressed up their horses and carriages for the occasion. The courses even had Jimmy Buffett-themed names like Flip Flops, Fins, It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere, and Margaritaville!

Margaritaville

The idea of hosting Conesville came from Janet Carswell, who organized the event. Inspired by a similar themed cones day, and a big fan of Jimmy Buffett, Carswell came up with Conesville as a unique play on Buffett’s Margaritaville.

“Conesville was my first “fun” event for drivers, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and seeing how much they enjoyed the event,” said Carswell. “The costumes and decorated carriages were definitely highlights for me. I can’t wait to see what they do on February 17th!”

Conesville Returns

Due to the event’s popularity, Conesville will be coming back on February 17th, 2023. Competitors can enjoy another fun day of driving with the same Jimmy Buffett theme, but with four new cones courses!

The new courses will include:

  1. Fins – Timed Obstacles
  2. Boat Drinks – Reverse Psychology Obstacles
  3. Volcano – All Oxers
  4. It’s 5 O’ Clock Somewhere – Choice and Decisions

As for the future of Black Prong’s Conesville events, Carswell says, “We might look at doing more of these events throughout the year. As long as the drivers participate, then I will be happy to organize for them to have fun.”

All of our driving events here at Black Prong would not possible without our volunteers, including the judges who donated their time to help facilitate our first Conesville event.

Entry forms for the February 17th event will need to be turned in by Wednesday, February 15th. You can find more information about the event and entry forms here.
