Event Coordinator

The Events Coordinator at Black Prong Equestrian Village (BPEV) should be a high-energy and self-motivated individual that works well in a team environment and has a desire to learn new skills and grow.  The Events Coordinator plays a key role in planning and executing the various types of events that occur at BPEV. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the General Manager of BPEV with a dotted line report to the Mayor of Black Prong. The Events Coordinator works closely with the Black Prong Marketing Manager to promote events and works closely with vendors and clients to ensure events are executed smoothly.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities
    All aspects of Event Production:

    • Vendor Management – Manage and expand lists of preferred event vendors as options for event producers to use
    • Sales of venue rentals and developing event packages
    • Provide enthusiastic tours of the Black Prong facility to prospective clients
    • Payment collection prior to the event, working closely with accounting and management teams
    • Coordinate and execute regular weekly events for Black Prong guests
    • Coordinate with multiple departments (Guest Relations, Operations, Food Services) to execute and plan events
    • Work with internal legal resources to write event contracts and work with clients to enforce contract language
    • Work with Black Prong marketing team to promote BPEV event facilities for use as both a wedding and conference center as well as an equestrian event destination (Starting in late 2022)
    • Assist in job costing for different types of events at BPEV to determine what event rates should be to cover overhead costs and to ensure a profit
    • Document event production processes and procedures to ensure a consistent, but continuously improving the guest experience
    • Provide regular updates on the status of projects to management
    • Maintain strong client relations and ensure that event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful experience
    • Effectively upsell throughout the pre-event and event phase, to include food and beverage, amenities, audiovisual, and special request services
    • Ability to juggle multiple meetings and/or events simultaneously and at different planning stages – identifying operational challenges and/or opportunities and developing seamless solutions
    • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Qualifications
    • 2-3 years’ experience in catering/event planning in the hospitality industry or a degree in event production and management
    • Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated with a can-do attitude
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize projects
    • Ability to work with a team to execute events
    • Detail-oriented
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new technology
    • Ability to exert a high level of customer service to current or potential clients while always embracing BPEV culture with high emphasis on exceeding clients’ expectations and always providing authentic hospitality to guests
    • Willingness to learn new things and stay fresh with industry trends to provide our clients with progressive ideas that add the “wow factor” for their event

Dishwasher / Prep Cook

The Dishwasher / Prep Cook at Black Prong Equestrian Village (EPEV) should be a high-energy and self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment and has a desire to learn new skills and grow. This position requires both discretion and candor, exercising good judgment when communicating with others, including employees. The Dishwasher / Prep Cook is a full-time position responsible for the cleanliness of the Black Prong and Galloping Gourmet Food Trailer kitchens, including washing and sanitizing all pots, pans, glassware, dishes, etc., maintaining a clean work area by sweeping mopping, and degreasing all kitchen areas, and removing garbage. This position will also unload dishes, keep items organized in all kitchens, and assist in the preparation of all upcoming Black Prong food-related projects. This position will report to both the Executive Chef and Souls Chef.

Job Responsibilities

  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into the dish machine
  • Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine
  • Unload dishes and utensils from the dish machine and organize them properly
  • Empty trash containers regularly
  • Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as requested
  • Clean food prep stations and equipment

Job Responsibilities: Operations and Events

  • Assist BPEV staff with event preparations for BPEV sanctioned events.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Restaurant or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card
  • Must be able to stand continuously throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Working knowledge of sanitation procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English

Sous Chef

Communication Specialist

Big Lick LLC: Black Prong Equestrian Center, Big Lick Stall Rental, All-In Removal

This is a full-time position that combines content creation and social media management skills to architect and enhance company social media and public presences, including interacting with customers, promoting brand-focused interactive and engaging content, expanding opportunities for revenue as well as keeping guest-facing systems working seamlessly. This position develops social media campaigns and works with the Marketing Manager to develop print, event, and digital advertising campaigns targeting the audiences most likely to find an interest in companies within the Big Lick LLC family. This position will be based at Black Prong Equestrian Village but will assist in executing marketing strategies for all of the Big Lick LLC businesses. This position will require on-site work, but with flexibility for a partially remote schedule. The Communication Specialist will report directly to the Big Lick LLC Marketing Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
  • Ensure brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including marketing, product development, and management
  • Collect customer data and analyze interactions and visits, plus use this information to create comprehensive reports and improve future marketing strategies and campaigns

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing is preferred
  • One to two years of experience with social media management, marketing, content creation, graphic design experience, and strategy
  • Proficiency in graphic design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools
  • Good understanding of content management systems

The cashier at Black Prong Equestrian Village (BPEV) should be a high-energy and self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment and has a desire to learn new skills and grow. This position requires both discretion and candor, exercising good judgment when communicating with others, including employees. As a counter attendant at our food trailer, you’ll be an important part of our customer service team. Working with our executive chef to ensure our customers start their day off right, you’ll greet customers with a smile when they walk up to the trailer and offer assistance with anything they need. This may be starting them out with a hot cup of coffee, answering questions about our delicious, local and organic menu items, or helping them with anything they might need. This role is ideal for friendly, personable workers with a passion for organic food and a desire to share our vision of a sustainable, eco-friendly environment with our customers.

  • Ring up food orders and communicate those orders to the kitchen staff, making sure to note any special requests so all items are made correctly
